I chose to be an RVT because as a child I was surrounded by animals. I grew up on a hobby farm and my favourite pet was a jersey cow. I often would dress my cats up in doll clothes and push them around in a stroller. They loved the attention. After graduating high school I worked as a kennel tech at Petland, then ventured on to Red River College to complete the Animal Health Technology program. I graduated in 2001 and worked at Roblin Animal Hospital, then I moved over to Oakbank Animal Hospital in 2002 to their mixed practice and have been here ever since.
There is a lot that interests me about veterinary medicine, such as the investigative work that is required to find out why our furry friends aren’t feeling well. What I love most about my job is seeing patients feel better when they are not well, and meet so many friendly people and pets along the way. A fun fact about myself is that I am a jack of all trades kind of girl. I like to challenge myself to many different projects. From house building to sewing to raising peacocks.
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that the restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. We are still providing the same excellent patient care that we always have, but with some changes to our operating policies.
